When my hairdressing teacher walked in beaming with delight holding a very large box earlier this month myself and the rest of the class knew that we were certainly in for a treat . And thankfully once she opened the box we were not disappointed at the sight of an entire box full L'Oreal hair chalks!
Unlike other hair chalks these are not a solid block of chalk (despite being marketed otherwise) and are more like a temporary liquid form of chalk and are not drying in the slightest. These chalks are extremely pigmented so if you desire a pastel or more subtle touch of colour you may want to apply with a very light hand gradually. Although these claim to last up to three washes in an experiment we attempted we found that lasted well over that.
Above is my first attempt of using these chalks, I used First date Violet on a block and I used less and less as i went up to create a gradual colour. My personal favourite shades of this range are Sweet sixteen Pink, First Date violet and Coral Sunset.Though the rest of the range (Black Tie,Blue ocean Cruise,Bronze beach, Garden Party and Coffee Break) are still very good I found the shade on the bottle misleading to what colour is actually produced.
The l'Oreal Hair Chalks are quite pricey at £15 a bottle despite having several uses and including an applicant sponge and small bowl I still feel this is defiantly too expensive considering some are misleading and the size of the product. Unfortunately the range has not been released to high street shop yet the entire collection is available on Look Fantastic
